Jelly Roll’s Wife Bunnie XO Shares Pointed Message to Fans Weighing in on Their Surrogacy Plans
Bunnie XO has a pointed message for the people who have brought negativity into the conversation about her plans to expand her family with her husband, Jelly Roll.
The couple, who have been married since 2016, announced last month that they intend to have a child together.
The Dumb Blonde podcast host shared a screenshot of a negative comment on Facebook on Saturday, July 6. While the name of the person who posted the comment was cropped out of the image, their message—which focused on Bunnie’s recent explanation that she and Jelly Roll plan to use a surrogate—was visible in full.
The person’s comment suggested they thought Bunnie had chosen the surrogate route to preserve “that perfect body of yours.” They contrasted that decision with carrying a baby, which they described as “so much more of the natural experience of motherhood.”
“This is so gross. You guys think I don’t want to carry because of my body lol,” Bunnie wrote in her Facebook post accompanying the screenshot.
The podcaster, who is a stepmom to Jelly Roll’s daughter and son, then explained she is “scared” of the idea of being pregnant again “because I’ve had two ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages AND at my age, I do not want to go thru that again nor do we have time for me to do that because our life is happening so fast.”
“Please watch how you say things to ppl on the internet,” her post continued. “You aren’t in their shoes, you haven’t fought their battles & you kno nothing of the journey we’ve been thru, only what we’ve told you. This right here is exactly why I won’t be posting our journey anymore. ??.”
Earlier Saturday, Bunnie shared a clip from one of her recent podcast recordings during which she further detailed why she and Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, decided to use a surrogate.
In the clip, she revealed that they first began their “IVF journey” in 2019. Back then, Bunnie said she “just wasn’t ready” because she was battling depression and “still figuring out sobriety.” Five years later, “We are not even the same humans we were in 2019,” she added.
While Bunnie said she and her country music star husband initially received “so much” love in response to their announcement that they would expand their family, negative comments soon began rolling in.
“From here on out, I want to keep it private,” she said in the podcast clip. “I just want something that’s ours.”
