Jeni's will release four eclipse-themed ice cream flavors ahead of the April 8 solar eclipse
Word is out about a new "arrival on Earth" teased this week on social media by Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams.
The national chain will release a quartet of eclipse-themed flavors on March 28, ahead of the April 8 solar eclipse whose path of totality cuts a swath through Ohio and other parts of the Midwest and South.

The ice cream scoop was first reported Wednesday by the Rutherford County Source in Tennessee. The news site said Jeni's will introduce three new flavors and bring back an old one:
Nebula Berry: blueberry and raspberry flavors with the fragrance of elderflower.
Cosmic Bloom: tropical flavors of mandarin, kiwi and passion fruit.
Purple Star Born: Concord grape and black currant flavors.
Supermoon: an ice cream Jeni's has made before that's reminiscent of milk flavored by Lucky Charms breakfast cereal.
Jeni's also will offer, for a limited time, a Pop Rocks-style fizzy candy topping.
Jeni's started in Columbus in 2002 and now has ice cream shops in 14 states. Its local stores are in North Market, the Short North, Easton Town Center, Dublin, Clintonville and Grandview Heights and German Village.
The chain hasn't said how long the flavors will be available.
