Jenna Bush Hager Shares Awkward Story About Being 'Disinvited' From Prom: 'I Can't be Controlled'
Jenna Bush Hager doesn't shy away from telling stories about her youth on Today and recently, the former first daughter shared a personal story about being 'disinvited' from prom
On June 11, Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb discussed Billie Ellish's comments about getting ghosted during Today With Hoda & Jenna. Bush Hager shared that she had never been ghosted, but, "I was invited to prom and then was disinvited."
So, what happened?
"Well, I kissed somebody else," Bush Hager said on Tuesday, prompting gasps from the crew. "But now, before everybody gets their panties in a roar...panties in a bunch...whatever the analogy is. Here's the thing, I wasn't dating him, OK? We were going as friends to the prom, therefore, I can't be controlled."

Naturally, Kotb asked some follow-up questions. "So you dated him and now you're just friends going," Kotb said. "Now, did you think you were going as friends?"
"Yes, I did! Yes, I did! We were friends, we were together, we had broken up for a period of time, it was his senior prom, I was a sophomore..." Bush Hager defended herself.
She added: "I had already purchased a dress with my mother in tow."
Kotb asked why Bush Hager didn't just go to prom with the boy she kissed, and the mom of three had a good explanation for that as well.
"Because he was a sophomore too, it was a senior prom," she explained. "But I did go with him senior year so it all ended up fine."
To that, Kotb pointed out, "So it all went full circle!"
Today, Bush Hager is married to Henry Hager, and they share three children: Mila, 11, Poppy, 8, and Hal, 4.
