Jennifer Aniston gushes over Jon Hamm after ‘Morning Show’ sex scene: ‘Big, tall drink of water’
Jon Hamm has a way with women.
Jennifer Aniston is gushing over her “The Morning Show” co-star months after their raunchy sex scene aired.
“Jon Hamm, yes! That big, tall drink of water,” Aniston, 55, said during her Variety Actors on Actors interview with Quinta Brunson that came out Thursday.
Hamm, 53, joined the cast of Season 3 of the Apple TV+ drama series.
His character, tech billionaire Paul Marks, gets into a steamy romance with Aniston’s Alex Levy.
Their sex scene from the Oct. 11 episode went viral on social media.
In the Variety interview, Aniston told Brunson, 34, that one of the most exciting parts of Season 3 for her was getting to work with Hamm.
“We’ve been friends for so many years,” she said. “It was exciting to explore that side of Alex in that more feminine, romantic world. Also, there was a sense of kind of like, f–k it.”
Called “The Stanford Student,” the episode of “The Morning Show” with the Aniston and Hamm sex scene featured Alex lying naked on top of Paul after the two got intimate, following an intense interview.
In December, Aniston revealed that she refused to use an intimacy coordinator to shoot the racy scene.
“I was like, ‘What does that mean?’ They said, ‘Where someone asks you if you’re OK,’ and I’m like, ‘Please, this is awkward enough! We’re seasoned — we can figure this one out,’ ” Aniston recalled.
Director and executive producer Mimi Leder applauded Aniston and Hamm’s performance after the episode came out.
“It was a closed set, and two very grown-up actors who really understood the nature of the storytelling and were very much a part of it,” Leder, 72, told Variety in October. “We wanted it to be sensitive. We wanted it to be sexy. We wanted it to be adult. We wanted it to be emotional. They really let go. They’re great actors. And there you have it.”
At the end of the season, Alex turns on Paul and sabotages his deal to buy UBA, seemingly signaling an end to Hamm’s time on the show.
However, the “Mad Men” alum recently said that he thinks there could be more to come for his and Aniston’s on-screen dynamic.
“For want of a better phrase, I don’t think the relationship has run its course yet,” he said at an Emmys for Your Consideration event for the show June 1.
“It’s unfinished business for sure. It’s not fulfilled. There is something there, there has to have been for it to mean that much to both of these people.”
Aniston was also at the FYC event and praised Hamm.
“We had such a good time,” she said. “He really is one of the most committed actors, [the] hardest working actor honestly.”
Hamm returned the love to the “Friends” alum, saying: “There’s a reason that she’s had the career that she’s had: She’s fantastically talented, she’s funny, she’s sexy, she’s all of the things, which is great, but mostly she’s a kind person.”
“The Morning Show” has been renewed for Season 4. A release date has not been announced.
