“We are incredibly proud to partner with the one and only Jennifer Aniston and Invisible Universe to bring Clydeo’s silliness, kindness and warmth to life in books,” said publisher and vice president of HarperCollins, Nancy Intel, in the same statement. “Clydeo is not just a story about an adorable dog’s adventures, but also a celebration of the joy everyone finds in discovering their true passions.”
The history behind Clydeo the cartoon dog
Clydeo is a cartoon and social media star who is often seen getting into wild adventures and eating all sorts of food. He is based on Aniston’s real dog, Clyde, whom she rescued a few years ago and who is animated on social media by Invisible Universe.

The cartoon dog first appeared on social media on December 21, 2021, with the post reading, “You know that saying, every dog has his day? Well, this is mine. I'm gonna take tomorrow too... and maybe the rest of the month... Every day from this day forth will be known as Clydeo's Day.”
As of publication, Clydeo has more than 48,000 followers on Instagram and 280,000-plus followers on TikTok, with both bios reading, “Dog, Foodie, Cousin, Best Friend of Jennifer Aniston.”
The dog also posted about his book coming out, saying: “This furry foodie’s got a book deal! A real pinch me moment, a picture book inspired by yours truly ?? thanks to @jenniferaniston & @harperkids.”
The dog also did a joint post with Aniston that read: “BIG news for this little guy. I am so excited to help @callmeclydeo announce his first-ever book ????. Pre-order now at the link in bio ??”
