In addition to starring in the Apple TV+ hit show The Morning Show, which just released the first two episodes of its third season, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon also have a major part of the behind-the-scenes of the show too. In fact, the two are executive producers on the show alongside Lauren Levy Neustadter, Kristin Hahn, Charlotte Stout, Mimi Leder and Michael Ellenberg.

So, although we couldn’t chat with Aniston and Witherspoon themselves due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes, SheKnows recently talked to Hahn and Neustadter about how the production team works together to make the show so succesful.
“I think Reese and Jen are very similar in that they put their heart and soul into their process as actors and as producers,” Hahn said of the duo. “What I’m amazed by with both of them is their ability to switch hats effortlessly, really gracefully, which not everybody can do.”

Hahn continues, adding that they often “bare their soul” in a scene then go back to talking about music, or edits, or budget, or anything in between, the moment the director says “cut.” “They’re able to navigate that dance beautifully,” Hahn adds, “It’s a superpower.”
Neustadter, for her part, couldn’t agree more. “They’re really invested and involved when it comes to their characters, but also every component of the show,” she adds.
Most all, both the EPs agree that what makes their show so successful is the teamwork that the cast and crew has developed over the three seasons. “[The teamwork] has been one of the great pleasures and great gifts that we’ve gotten from getting to do it together,” Neustadter adds.
“It’s a very collaborative spirit behind the scenes of the show, [something] you don’t always find a lot of time because there’s a lot of posturing and ego and sort of protocols,” Hahn adds, noting that this production was the opposite and felt very “fluid” instead.
“We’re all in it together,” Neustadter continues. “Even now when the show is about to come out [we’re] just constantly texting and being in touch. There’s a real spirit of collaboration on this show that I think is woven into every aspect of it.”
Indeed, this show feels like it only gets better season after season, luckily now we know why! Watch the first two episodes of The Morning Show season three on Apple TV+ today!
