Jennifer Garner Shares Her Personal Book Pick on Instagram (and Gives Rare Glimpse into Her Bedroom)

From the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Emma Roberts to Sarah Jessica Parker and one of our favs, Reese Witherspoon, it seems as though every celebrity has their own book club now. But, from experience I know that whatever Jennifer Garner touches turns to gold. So when I caught a glimpse of the 13 Going on 30 star's Instagram story revealing her personal book pick, I was already sold.

The story posted shows a photograph of Garner's wooden bedside table. Nestled on the top among a black alarm clock, a white marble lamp and what seems to be a device charging station lay The Night We Lost Him by Laura Dave. The cover features a long wooden staircase that descends down onto a sandy beach with wild waves lapping at the shore. Scrawled on top of the image is the title and author's name written in white hand drawn lettering.

Dave's novel is one of drama, mystery and intrigue. After two estranged siblings, Nora and Sam, lose their father in a tragic fall from his cliffside cottage, ruled an "accident" by the authorities, the pair come together to try to figure out what really happened. Harboring a secret for 50 years, keeping his three ex-wives and their families meticulously separate and ensuring that his finances were in order, Nora and Sam's father Liam, a self-made hotel magnate, came to an untimely end. But something was awry and the pair of siblings are hellbent on putting the pieces together.

In Garner's post, she wrote a caption saying, "I'm jealous of anyone who gets to read @lauradaveauthor's new book The Night We Lost Him for the first time. I can't wait to dive back in again, LD—congratulations on publishing day!" The Juno actress also included a link to buy the book from Laura Dave's author site. The book, which hit shelves yesterday, is Dave's seventh novel.
