Jennifer Hudson has her hands full. Between taping season 3 of The Jennifer Hudson Show (that premiered just yesterday), raising a 15-year-old son, working on new music and accepting awards left and right, the EGOT winner has found time to dedicate to one of her biggest passions: helping animals.

In her latest endeavor, Hudson is teaming with Dawn dish soap on a commercial that shines a light on the 45+ years of work that the brand has done with the International Bird Rescue. The global conservation organization is the world’s leading authority on bird rehabilitation, and solely trusts Dawn to clean and help save wildlife impacted by oil spills.

The campaign made sense on every level, starting with Hudson’s love of wildlife. She jokes, “People say I treat my animals better than I treat people … and that may be true!” The multi-hyphenate artist is the proud owner of a hairless cat named Macavity, who enjoys accompanying his mom to work at The Jennifer Hudson Show. She also just adopted another cat named Popcorn.

Beyond this, Hudson simply cherishes having the staples that make her house a home: “If Dawn soap ain’t sitting on my kitchen counter, baby, that’s not my house,” she tells THR. And now that her son has taken up cooking, the singer has been on major dish duty. Her other secret hack? Using Dawn dish soap to clean her jewelry. “I’m passionate about my kid, I’m passionate about my animals and I’m passionate about my jewelry blinging.” Basically, this campaign checks every box.

For a limited time, shoppers can visit dawnducks.com to download a $1 coupon off Dawn Platinum EZ-Squeeze, and in turn, Dawn will donate $1 to the International Bird Rescue, up to $100,000.

As for what else she has in the works right now, top of mind is, of course, season 3 of her daytime talk show: “I’m getting back into the swing of things, which I’m super excited about … I want everyone to choose joy this season.”

Hudson also has new music coming, her first-ever holiday album that’ll be out on Oct. 18 (with a Target-exclusive CD available for pre-order now). Most importantly, she’s focusing on being a mom. “My life is full and I am blessed.”
