Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Are Reportedly Arguing Over These Financial Issues Amid Divorce
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reportedly didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement ahead of their July 2022 wedding in Las Vegas. It seems wild that any of their financial advisers would have allowed that to happen, but it’s probably why the estranged couple is reportedly locked in a battle over two of their assets amid their divorce.
“They had no prenup, which complicates things, and what’s at stake are the assets they acquired together during their marriage — the $60 million house they’ve listed for $68 million, and the production company Artists Equity Ben formed with Matt Damon two years ago, which Jennifer also has a stake in,” an In Touch Weekly source claimed. The Beverly Hills estate has been an issue for quite a while, but Lopez seems to be the one most upset about it.

According to the media outlet’s source, the “Jenny From the Block” singer “put down the bulk of cash for their gigantic mansion, plus paid for many of the renovations. She wants to get her investment back.” That certainly sheds new light on their financial situation. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Lopez is worth $400 million while Affleck’s net worth is $150 million. The issue about the money she put into the home might be why she’s looking to get a piece of Affleck’s production company.
TMZ reported on Sept. 24 that Lopez and Affleck found a buyer for their home at a reduced rate of $64 million, but the sale fell through. That still leaves the former duo on the hook to pay for expenses on the residence while they hope another person steps up to buy the place. Affleck moved into a $20.5 million Pacific Palisades bachelor pad last month while Lopez is still on the hunt for her dream home.
Affleck is reportedly fighting his ex on getting a cut of his Artists Equity production company because he doesn’t believe “Jennifer has a right” to stake that claim, per In Touch Weekly. However, California is a community property state, and the law might be on her side — a prenup agreement would have saved them lots of heartache and a lot of money.
