Fans got their hopes up for a Bennifer reconciliation after Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were spotted together with their kids this past weekend—but a source for People has quickly shattered those expectations.

On Saturday, Lopez and Affleck were photographed together for the first time since the “Can’t Get Enough” singer filed for divorce in August. They were accompanied to the Beverly Hills Hotel restaurant by their kids: Lopez’s 16-year-old twins Emme and Max, whom she shares with ex Marc Anthony, and Affleck’s 15-year-old Fin and 12-year-old Samuel, whom he shares with ex Jennifer Garner.

“They all came together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out,” the source told People.“[Jennifer’s] trying to be friendly with Ben. They are still moving forward with the divorce though. They are working out financial details amicably.”

The insider added, “A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn’t want to be selfish about it. The kids always got along and have fun together. It makes her happy seeing the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority.”

Lopez and Affleck married in 2022, nearly 20 years after they called off their initial 2003 wedding. The Hustlers star reflected on their decades-spanning romance in her Amazon Prime documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

“Ben and I broke up three days before our wedding, and we crumbled under the pressure. You think you’re doing okay, so you shrug it off,” Lopez said. “I think I was angry at [Affleck] for a long time. But that heartbreak set both of us on a course to figuring ourselves out, to being better people. I think I’ve forgiven you all the way. I think I need to forgive myself [for] some things.”
