Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck's Home Sale May Have Nothing To Do With Their Current Marital Issues

The swirl of headlines around Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage has been linked to the sale of their $61 million Beverly Hills estate. However, an insider is sharing a much different perspective as to why the dynamic duo is selling the residence, and it has nothing to do with their alleged marital issues.

After an exhaustive two-year search Lopez and Affleck bought the palatial property in 2023 only to realize that it never truly felt like home once they settled in, according to a People source. “Ben never liked the house. It’s too far away from his kids,” they shared while noting that Lopez felt like “the house is way too big for her.” Let’s just say, there is a point when lots of rooms feel cumbersome instead of cozy — this place is enormous.

The estate boasts “12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a 12-car garage and a pool, plus a sports complex with basketball and pickleball facilities, a gym and a boxing ring,” per The Wall Street Journal, which featured the home in spring 2023. The A-list amenities may have felt like the perfect place for their blended family to hang out, but the realization that a gigantic place didn’t fit their vibe quickly set in. In Touch also pointed out the financial obligations of a larger home. “Ben was thinking more along the lines of $20 million for the house, but Jen overruled him,” their source claimed. “Their bills are through the roof. It’s all eating away at their bank accounts. The pressure to make money keeps intensifying.”

While TMZ was the first outlet to report the news that their home was on the market, they also claimed that a “divorce [was] imminent.” People‘s insider disagrees with that assessment so far. “They’re still friendly and see each other every few days,” they noted. The duo was also spotted back at the Beverly Hills home where J.Lo is still residing, spending four hours together. Affleck is in a rental property in Brentwood in the area where his three children, Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, reside with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Lopez and Affleck may need to get on the same page with how they want to live their lives and create a new pathway to happiness if they want to continue with their marriage. It’s not easy for two high-profile stars to weather the limelight, especially when it’s just as tough the second time around.
