Jennifer Lopez’s Epic 'This Is Me...Now' Trailer Teases Ben Affleck’s Appearance

Some people choose to embrace a new phase of life by reflecting on the past. That’s exactly what Jennifer Lopez is doing with her forthcoming film and album This Is Me…Now. The first trailer for the epic film experience just hit the internet, and among the flashes of fantasy sequences, dancing, and new music was a special tease of Ben Affleck’s appearance.

Let’s break down this trailer first. This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, which hits Amazon Prime Video on Feb. 16, features Lopez as herself, reflecting on her love life and journey to super-stardom. There’s a lot of meta-commentary on the actress and singer’s past relationships — including her three marriages prior to wedding Affleck in 2022. The trailer is heavy on the visual effects, Lopez’s own musings on her life, and then there’s the new music off her forthcoming album This Is Me Now…, which will release the same day as the film.

Among the credited names of the star-studded cast toward the end of the trailer, there’s one that really pops out. Ben Affleck’s name features at the bottom of the cast. While we don’t really see him in the trailer (Do we? Did we miss him?) the Good Will Hunting and Argo Oscar winner will likely show up at some point, even if it’s just for a scene or two.

For those who might not remember, Lopez and Affleck share a history of collaboration. The couple memorably starred in the film Gigli in the early aughts, and Lopez also appeared alongside the actor and director in the 2004 film Jersey Girl. There was also that great Dunkin Donuts commercial, in which Affleck spent a day working at drive-thru and Lopez showed up asking for a glazed donut.

All of this is to say, Lopez and Affleck know what it’s like to work together on a project. But this one has a lot of significance for Lopez. She’s reflecting on her past and embracing her future with This Is Me…Now. We’ll have to see what the final product looks and sounds like when This Is Me…Now and This Is Me…Now: A Love Story debut next month.
