‘Jeopardy!’ contestants don’t know who Eric Andre is, comedian calls them out
Eric Andre has made it.
The 41-year-old comedian, actor, and TV show host was the answer to a clue on last Monday’s episode of “Jeopardy!”
However, none of the three contestants knew who Andre was — much to his chagrin.
Zoe Strassfield, Matt Brooks, and Cat Pisacano were all dead silent during the $2,000 clue for the “Guests on Hot Ones” category during Double Jeopardy.
“On his Adult Swim show, this host destroys his set every episode, but says he is sedated in real life: ‘I meditate, jog, I eat salad,’ ” host Ken Jennings read to the trio, as a photo of Andre popped up on the screen.
None of the contestants knew the answer, prompting Jennings to say, “What is Eric Andre?”
Andre posted a clip of the moment from the game show on his Instagram.
“Damn they left me hanging
@jeopardy,” he wrote in his caption.
Andre’s followers jokingly roasted the comedian and the contestants in the comments section.
“THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING,” one fan wrote.
“They looked so scared and confused
,” another person said.
Somebody else wrote, “Jeopardy people know nothing that’s actually worth knowing lol!!”
“I think being the 2000 question is somewhat of a compliment,” another comment read.
Another fan said, “Man they did you dirty.”
Andre is the creator, host and co-writer of the Adult Swim sketch comedy series “The Eric Andre Show.”
It premiered in 2012 and parodies other late-night talk shows.
Donald Glover, Jon Hamm, Blac Chyna, Lil Nas X, Raven-Symone, and Benny Blanco are among the guests who appeared on last season.
Andre talked about getting celebrities on his show and how it’s contributed to its success in a 2020 interview with The Guardian.
“We got it down to a science where we can kind of make it work with anybody. When tarantulas and scorpions are popping out of my desk, it doesn’t matter who they are, they’re going to have a strong reaction,” he said. “We don’t tell the guests a single thing before they come to set, and they waltz right into a house of horrors.”
Andre is also known for acting in “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23,” “2 Broke Girls,” “The Righteous Gemstones” and more.
He’s done voice work for “Robot Chicken,” American Dad,” “Disenchanment” and “Archer.”
He was the voice of Azizi in the 2019 remake of “The Lion King.”
