‘Jeopardy!’ viewers don’t know who guest host David Faber is, but they love him anyway
It’s a new week and another new guest host on Jeopardy!, and this time it’s the host of CNBC’s morning talk show, Squawk on the Street, David Faber. And despite doing his thing way up the dial in the cable news channels and not being as well known as some of the other guest hosts, viewers on social media loved him. One person on Twitter said, “He's actually doing the best job yet. Wow. I don't even know who he is.”
Tuned in late. I have no idea who David Faber is but he has a kind face. #jeopardy

#jeopardy Wait a minute... Where did David Faber come from? This guy is a natural. It's either him or KenJennings for permanent host.

But Faber does have some ties to the show and brings a little bit of past experience to his week-long stint as host. And that’s because he actually competed in the Jeopardy! Power Players Tournament back in 2012, defeating Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Fox News’ Dana Perino. He touched on that experience during his intro, and how he was able to learn up-close from the man whose shoes everyone is trying to fill.
“I am so excited to be here. As a financial journalist, I live in a world of facts, and what I love is that that's what Jeopardy! is all about,” Faber said. “Having also played as a contestant with Alex (Trebek), I understand just how important it was to him that the players were able to perform at their very best. And I hope and intend to honor that standard as a guest host this week.”
And even though it was only night one for Faber, viewers think he has already found his groove.
Great first show @davidfaber. Huge jeopardy fan here and am looking forward to the rest of your week!

He definitely did a great job on night one. It’s taken some of the hosts a few nights to find their groove.

Just finished watching Jeopardy. Very impressed with David Faber. His first day and he was smooth and professional.

I was impressed with your delivery throughout the show. You didn’t seem to have 1st day jitters - you must not want the full time gig so you’re not stressed! :)

@davidfaber gets my vote for permanent host of #Jeopardy. Great job!

Luckily for those viewers and many more, Faber is just getting started.
“We're gonna be back tomorrow, and we certainly hope to see you then,” Faber said to end the show.
