Jeremy Allen White Shares Bold Opinion of Bruce Springsteen
Jeremy Allen White just won his second Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a comedy series category for playing the enormously talented (and enormously stressed out) young chef Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto in The Bear, but the star is already looking ahead to his next big role: Bruce Springsteen.
This fall, White is slated to start filming the biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. Directed by Scott Cooper and based on the book by Warren Zanes, the film will document the creation of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska. In the press room at the 76th annual Primetime Emmys Awards on Sunday, Sept. 15, White spoke about the upcoming project and shared his opinion of the legendary musician.
“I’m so excited to start this thing,” he said. “We’re going to start pretty soon. You know, I don’t want to talk about it too much. It feels wrong before getting there and starting the thing.”
“But I can say I’ve got a really beautiful team of people helping me and Bruce has been really lovely and supportive and available, which has made this whole process an extra joy," White continued. "His support and Jon Landau, his management support, who has a large role in the film as well. So I feel really lucky.”

As Variety reported, White even plans to do his own singing in the film.
“We’re gonna try. We’re gonna try our best," he said while on the red carpet for the Season 3 premiere of The Bear in June.
White's win wasn't the only triumph for The Bear at the Emmys. Liza Colón-Zayas won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series while Ebon Moss-Bachrach won for Outstanding Supporting Actor. The show’s creator and director, Christopher Storer, took home the prize for Outstanding Director for a Comedy Series.
