Jeremy Renner Named Grand Marshal Of Hollywood Christmas Parade
Ho-ho-Hawkeye. MCU and Mayor of Kingstown star Jeremy Renner will take the reindeer reins as grand marshal of the 92nd Hollywood Christmas Parade next month.
The two-time Oscar-nominated actor, who was badly injured in a snowplow accident nearly two years ago, will preside over the festivities starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, December 1. Launched in 1928, the parade is a longstanding Los Angeles tradition and serves as an official kickoff to the holiday season. It also collects and donations charities including the U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots program.

“I’m honored to serve as the grand marshal for this year’s Hollywood Christmas Parade and excited to partner with Toys for Tots to bring joy to children in need,” Renner said in a statement. “Their mission aligns closely with the work we do at the RennerVation Foundation, creating meaningful experiences for at-risk youth. This season of giving is about spreading hope, and I’m thrilled to share this moment with my family and friends from the foundation as we work together to make a difference.”

Renner was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for 2008’s The Hurt Locker, which scooped the Best Picture prize and five other Academy Awards, and also as Best Supporting Actor for The Town two years later. He has played Clint Burton/Hawkeye in multiple Marvel movies including Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Civil War and toplined the character’s 2021 Disney+ series. He has starred since 2021 as Mike McLusky in the Paramount+ drama series Mayor of Kingstown, for which a Season 4 writers room has been opened.
He next stars opposite Daniel Craig and others in the Netflix threequel Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
Previous grand marshals of the event include Gene Autry, Charlton Heston, Bob Hope, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Pickford, James Stewart, Walter Matthau, John Wayne, Olivia Newton-John, Susan Lucci and Dwayne Johnson.
Loaded with floats, marching bands, performances and more, the 2024 Hollywood Christmas Parade will be hosted by Dean Cain, Elizabeth Stanton, Laura McKenzie and Montel Williams. It is capped off by a visit from Santa Claus himself.
The CW will air the parade on December 14.
