Jessica Alba Gives Advice to Vanessa Kirby for The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Former Fantastic Four actress Jessica Alba is offering some words of wisdom for her replacement, Vanessa Kirby.
Alba, who played Sue Storm in 2005's Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel alongside Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis, and Chris Evans, spoke to Collider about Marvel’s upcoming reboot, The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Alba was asked if she had any advice for Kirby. “I think just have fun, she said. “The fans are so amazing. It was probably one of the best times of my life, going around the world and meeting all of the people that just love The Fantastic Four and love these comic books and can relate to these stories.”
Alba received a Razzie nomination for her role in the movies, but despite Rotten Tomato scores under 40% for both films, they’re remembered a bit more fondly today.
They also came away with respectable box office hauls: Fantastic Four got $333.5 million, while Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer got $301.9 million
Alba continued, “That, to me, and to be able to meet so many different people that you can touch and bring joy to them, I would say that's first and foremost for anyone who gets the honor of playing one of these awesome characters. So I’d tell her to just have fun and soak in the moments.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Kirby, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. It releases 25 July 2025.
Alba may need to offer Kirby some fighting tips too as The Fantastic Four: First Steps teases a classic comic book villain.
