Jill Biden Takes Over New York Fashion Week With Her Stylish Granddaughter Finnegan
During New York Fashion Week, there are some stars that we can always expect to see. From Naomi Campbell to Colman Domingo, some stars are such fashionistas that NYFW wouldn’t be complete without them! But, in this year’s Spring/Summer edition, the fashionable week got two surprise attendees: First Lady Jill Biden and her grandaughter Finnegan.
Together, the two attended the Ralph Lauren show on Sept. 5 in Bridgehampton, New York. For the event, 23-year-old Finnegan wore a flowy floral patterned dress with a black blazer and matching knee-high boots while Jill wore a black suit with matching pointed heels.

In addition to watching the show in the front row, the Bidens also rubbed shoulders with some of the other stars in attendance like Usher, Jude Law, Tom Hiddlestone and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
And, as it turns out, Jill and her granddaughter didn’t just fly to NYC to see what fashion trends might be coming up the next year. The pair also attended the Fashion For Our Future march on Sept. 6 in Bryant Park.
“The clothing we wear gives us the power to make a statement without saying a word,” the First Lady said as she took the stage. “But this year, we must wear it, say it, march for it—and then do it: Vote!”
She then addressed some big names in fashion who were in the crowd. “Thom [Browne], it’s always a good day when I get to share a stage with a fellow Pennsylvanian,” she told the designer. “Time and time again, you bring new life into the styles we take for granted. And now, you’re bringing new life into civic engagement.”
“And Anna [Wintour], no one has shaped this industry more than you,” she continued. “But you haven’t stopped there. Now you’re shaping the world. The President and I value your counsel and friendship. With all my heart, thank you for being such a powerful force for good.”
“The fashion community always comes together when it matters most,” she concluded at the end of her passionate speech. “When AIDS engulfed the industry, you raised awareness and money for research. You did the same for breast cancer. As Thom reminded us just now, fashion has always been for our future. This much is clear: You walk the walk. And you’ve always done it together. That’s what we have to do again this Fall.”
Looks like the Bidens are really making their mark at fashion week!
