Jim Reeve Dies: Great Point Media Founder & British Entertainment Executive Was 64
Jim Reeve, the British film and TV financier, died unexpectedly earlier this week. He was 64.
The announcement about the founder and Chairman of Great Point Media was made in a statement on the company’s website.

“It is with profound sadness that Great Point must confront the sudden and unexpected loss of our founder, mentor and friend, Jim Reeve, who passed away on Tuesday February 27th, 2024.
“Jim had a storied career in the entertainment business spanning 40 years, and his passing will be mourned by a great many. Our thoughts are with Jim’s family most of all during this incredibly difficult time.”
Reeve was an industry veteran who founded the London-based Great Point in 2013 alongside Robert Halmi Jr. Before that, he was a senior investment executive at Ingenious Group.
According to IMDb, Reeve produced nearly 130 film or TV projects, including 2001 film Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles starring Paul Hogan, 2005’s The Wedding Date starring Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney, 2016’s Lady Macbeth starring Florence Pugh and Asteroid City from last year. His first credit as an executive producer was on the 1986 feature The Whistle Blower, starring Michael Caine and James Fox.
Great Point was also attached to Kneecap, the Irish drama that made a splash at Sundance. Recent projects also included Kill, The Loneliest Boy in the World and Blue Jean.
In a separate statement issued to Deadline, Great Point said: “We are deeply saddened and still processing Jim’s sudden passing. He was beloved throughout the industry, but especially by his staff. Our immediate priority is Jim’s family and doing everything we can to support them during this incredibly difficult time.”
Great Point has claims to have worked on over 400 film and television productions and has produced, financed and distributed over £2B ($2.5B) of content.
