Jimmy Kimmel: Kids asked if woman can be president

Jimmy Kimmel interviewed Hillary Clinton on Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, but before talking to her about the 2016 race (and Donald Trump), Kimmel had the former Secretary of State participate in a Kimmel Kids focus group.

Kimmel put four children together, two boys and two girls, and asked them if a woman could be president. “I think women are not presidents,” said one of the boys. Added the other: “They’re too girly. They’ll make girls rules. Free makeup in the world.”

The young girls, however, thought a woman president would be better at the job than a man. “If there is a war, then she would probably make it stop so people could be more healthy and they won’t die,” said one of the girls.

The gender divide continued throughout the sketch, even as Clinton herself arrived to take policy requests from the kids (both girls knew who Clinton was by name; the boys did not).

“She could make up a law for people to have free food in restaurants,” said one of the girls when asked what a woman president should do in office.

“If you go to a store and you have to buy something, I want it to be free,” said one of the boys. The other boy’s hope? “No school, even though you’re a kid.”

But with the issues out of the way, Kimmel finally found something everyone in the room could agree on: “Let’s go outside and run around,” he said, to unanimous cheers from the children.
