Jimmy Kimmel shares conspiracy theory behind Trump's hatred for Bette Midler
On Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel hypothesized the reason behind Donald Trump's hatred toward Bette Midler, and it's pretty genius.
Trump has been doing his presidential duties in the U.K., but that didn't stop him from going after Midler on Twitter Tuesday as he called her a "washed-up psycho" and "a sick scammer."
Washed up psycho @BetteMidler was forced to apologize for a statement she attributed to me that turned out to be totally fabricated by her in order to make “your great president” look really bad. She got caught, just like the Fake News Media gets caught. A sick scammer!

Trump's feud with Midler has been ongoing for years and, after doing some research, Kimmel thinks he knows why. Kimmel said it all starts with the popular 1993 film Hocus Pocus, which begins in 1693 during the Salem witch trials.
Kimmel explained that Midler played Winnie Sanderson, sister to Sarah Sanderson, which sounds a lot like Trump's ress Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. As mind blowing as that sounds alone, Kimmel said it goes far deeper than that.
Kimmel also made a connection between the city in which Hocus Pocus was filmed, which happens to be the hometown of President Richard Nixon, who "was the last president to be impeached by a witch hunt," said Kimmel.
Kimmel then said his (in the words of Trump) "smocking gun" was the fact that actor Charles Rocket, who played the father in Hocus Pocus, was best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. "A show that regularly attacks Donald Trump, a show that is going into its 45th season, number 45. Which President is Donald Trump? Number 45," shared Kimmel. If you're not convinced yet, Kimmel also researched Rocket's filmography.
"Charles Rocket was also in the movie Murder at 1600, which is about a President who covers up his son's illegal activities. That film starred Wesley Snipes. What happens to Wesley Snipes after that movie? He went to prison! Because of what? His tax returns!" And to bring it home, Kimmel made one final connection.
"I still haven't told you the name of the character Charles Rocket plays in Hocus Pocus. His character's name is David Dennison. Does that name ring a bell? Well, it should because it's the alias Donald Trump used to pay off the porn star, Stormy Daniels. David Dennison. Donald Trump got embroiled in a witch hunt for paying off a porn star while using the name of a character in a movie about a witch hunt, and that is why he hates Bette Midler!" So Kimmel thinks.
