Jinkx Monsoon ‘delighted’ to headline Portland Pride Sunday

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon and ‘Queen of All Queens’ set to headline Portland Pride on Sunday.

In a social media post on Friday, Monsoon said, “I love Portland and I almost never shut up about it, so I’m just excited (no, delighted) to be headlining Portland Pride Waterfront Festival on Sunday, July 21.”

As a Portland native, Monsoon rose to stardom in 2013 after winning season five of RuPaul’s Drag Race. That was just the start of this drag queen’s highly successful career. In 2022 Monsoon was crowned again while competing in ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars All Winners’ season seven. This is where Monsoon was titled the ‘Queen of All Queens’.

RuPaul’s hit competition shows aren’t the only thing Monsoon has found success in. She’s had multiple successful runs as Matron ‘Mama’ Morton in Broadway’s ‘Chicago’. Off Broadway’s ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ is also a title in this beloved drag queen’s repertoire.

It’s not just the stage where fans can watch Monsoon’s performances. Doctor Who is one of Monsoon’s latest roles as villainess, Maestro.

Portland Pride attendees can see Monsoon perform on the Portland Waterfront Pride Festival stage on Sunday, July 21 as she closes out the festivities.
