Joan Vassos Set Up 1 of Her ‘Golden Bachelor’ Costars With Eliminated ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Suitor
Joan Vassos revealed that she set up one of her Golden Bachelor costars with an eliminated suitor that appeared on her season of The Golden Bachelorette.
While appearing on Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, October 23, Joan, 61, was asked if she thinks any of Gerry Turner’s exes would be good fits for the men who pursued her on The Golden Bachelorette. "Well, I've already made a match,” she revealed. “I've tried two. One is working.”
Joan added that she has “one that's about to work, about to happen.” While she didn’t reveal who she has set up from the franchise, Joan said the women seem to appreciate her efforts. “You should see the texts I get from these ladies,” she said with a laugh.
The interview aired right before fans watched Joan go on hometown dates with her four remaining suitors. While she had a nice time on all of the dates, she ultimately decided to send Jordan Heller home amid fears that he wasn’t on the same page as her.
Who Do You Want to See as the Next Golden Bachelor?
Following the hometown dates, Chock Chapple, Guy Gansert and Pascal Ibgui are the last men standing.
While Guy, 66, seems to be a frontrunner on the season, he recently made headlines after it was revealed that his ex submitted paperwork for a “protection order against domestic violence” in October 2021. “After disparaging me for some time and my now-boyfriend, he pointed his finger like a gun then ‘shot’ at me,” the ex claimed in the documents viewed by Life & Style. “He motioned like he was going to shoot me with his hand shaped like a pistol.”
The ex went on to claim that Guy was “unstable” and alleged that he sent her several text messages in an attempt “to reconcile” before “[flipping] to anger.”
The restraining order request was dismissed ahead of Guy and his ex’s scheduled hearing in November 2021. The pair jointly filed to seal these records in September amid his appearance on the ABC show, though a judge denied the request.
After the scandal came to light, Guy addressed his past in a lengthy Instagram post. “This was an unfortunate situation that occurred during an incredibly stressful time for me and my former spouse and was ultimately resolved when she voluntary [sic] dismissed her request for a protective order,” he wrote on October 11. “Together we crafted a resolution that was agreeable to both parties. My ex-wife and I recently asked the court to seal her application for the protective order as we had hoped to maintain privacy for our family.”
Meanwhile, Joan broke her silence on the matter while appearing on the October 23 episode of “The Viall Files” podcast.
“The Golden franchise is a little bit unique because we come here with a lot of past,” Joan told Bachelor Nation’s Nick Viall. “We’ve lived a lot of life and it doesn’t completely surprise me that there are things that they’re maybe not proud of later on.”
She then insisted that she “never saw that side of Guy” or any of the men that appeared on her season.
“My interactions were pure and lovely and I would have never had any indication that there was any kind of past that [Guy] had,” she continued, stating that she has “no idea” about the claims made against the doctor.
