PREVIOUS, July 21, 12:14 PM: Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser certainly appears to be a winner for Crackle. The made-for-digital sequel to the 2001 cult hit has crossed 1 million views in its first five days on Crackle, the Sony-owned streaming TV network says. Crackle determined if NATO’s average ticket price of $8.12 were applied to the film’s performance since its July 16 premiere, the pic would have had a weekend box-office equivalent of approximately $8.12M in its first five days.
David Spade reprises his role from the 2001 Columbia Pictures film. Brittany Daniel, Dennis Miller, Christopher Walken and Adam Beach also star.
It’s rare for a streaming service like Crackle to release viewership data; competitors such as Netflix, Amazon and Hulu have chosen to keep that data private.
