Joe Jonas calls for 'prayers and support' after ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato's apparent overdose
Since news broke Tuesday that Demi Lovato had been rushed to a Los Angeles hospital following a suspected overdose, fans and fellow celebrities have flooded social media with messages of support.
Among them is Joe Jonas, who briefly dated the singer in 2010, around the time they filmed the sequel to their popular Disney Channel movie, Camp Rock. Jonas, who is now engaged to Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, sent his love to Lovato in a tweet Tuesday night.
Like all of you I am thinking of @DDLovato right now. She needs our prayers and support. We all know how strong you are Demi. #prayfordemi

The exes and former co-stars have remained on good terms since their split, with Lovato performing with Jonas’s new band, DNCE, in recent years. In 2016, he told E! News that he considered her to be “family.”
“She’s family,” Jonas said. “We’ve known Demi for so many years. We’ve performed with her, toured with her. She’s just incredible.
“It’s not always the case,” he added. “Sometimes you have to know when to fold the cards. I don’t think of her as an ex. We’re really good friends. We’ve gone through so much together, and we’re really close now.”
That sentiment holds true for his brothers as well. Both Nick and Kevin Jonas, who also starred in Camp Rock, tweeted about Lovato Tuesday night.
Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi. All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well. She is a fighter. #prayfordemi

Lovato’s most famous ex, Wilmer Valderrama, has yet to speak out about her hospitalization, though sources say he is reeling from the news. The stars dated for six years.
“He knew she was going through a tough time, but he wasn’t prepared for this,” an insider told People. “He saw her through so many ups and downs and was her rock through some of her darkest moments. To see her back in such a sad and vulnerable place is heartbreaking for him.”
According to a statement issued by Lovato’s rep, the pop star is recovering from her medical scare.
“Demi is awake and with her family, who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support,” the rep told Yahoo. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect, and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation, as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
