Joe Jonas’ Latest Song Has Fans Thinking It Has Everything to Do With Ex Sophie Turner
After a breakup, people process their emotions in different ways. While some might dive head-first into work, others venture into new hobbies, like yoga, painting, running, and so on. For musicians, it’s safe to say that making music is the thing that helps them heal.
So, of course, when Joe Jonas teased new music, we can’t help but think it’s all about his recent divorce from ex-wife Sophie Turner.

On May 29, Jonas posted a video of himself lip-syncing to his new upbeat pop song while riding a bike on a sunny day.
“Come on, Joe, you got so much more to be grateful for,” he sings at the beginning of the clip.
“Stop being sad because you’re making the room uncomfortable / OK I get it / I know you’re feeling so miserable / Sometimes I wish I had powers to be invisible,” the lyrics continue. In other words, Jonas is having a hard time getting through something even though everyone around him might be pushing him to get over it.
“Even baddies get saddies and that’s the hardest truth,” Jonas continues. ” Called your mommy and daddy, they don’t know what to do.”
“Even baddies get saddies ?? #newmusic,” Jonas wrote in the caption.
In the comments, fans of Jonas are understandably freaking out over his new era. “I know you’ve been cooking and cooking and cooking but bestie the girlies are STARVING,” wrote one commenter. “This is gonna be a BOP ?? baddies to get saddies ???let’s normalize all the emotions!” wrote another.
Some other fans, who can clearly see the link between the lyrics and their messy split, also send their support. “Sometimes heartbreaks make the best/beautiful music,” wrote one commenter. “I hope you will heal 100% soon from everything. Just know we love you @joejonas thank you for being you????.”
Prior to Jonas’ tease of new music, Turner opened up about their split for the first time in an interview with British Vogue. “I mean, those were the worst few days of my life,” Turner remembered of Jonas’ filing for divorce in September 2023.
At the time, Turner was filming a new TV series, named Joan, in the U.K. “I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks so I couldn’t leave,” she detailed. “My kids were in the States and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish Joan.”
And while this situation alone seems terrifying, things only got worse when rumors about Turner’s “partying lifestyle” hit the headlines. “I mean, it’s unfathomable the amount of people that will just make s— up and put it up based on a picture,” Turner said of the false rumors. “A picture might tell a thousand words, but it’s not my story. It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn’t written, hadn’t produced, or starred in.”
“It was shocking,” she added. “I’m still in shock.”
Looks like both Jonas and Turner are opening up about their sides of the story.
