Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner's Marriage Problems Reportedly Began a Year Ago With This Disagreement
Insiders are shedding more light on the events leading up to Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s high-profile divorce and they claim issues have been brewing for a year.
Jonas, 34, and Turner, 27, have been at the center of a media storm over the past month after news broke of their impending divorce. Jonas officially filed for divorce on September 5 before Turner hit back with a legal battle of her own as she attempts to move the couple’s two children back to the United Kingdom.

After four years of a seemingly amicable and loving marriage, Turner and Jonas are now locked in one of the most turbulent celebrity divorces in recent memory.
In an Us Weekly cover story published on September 27, several sources claiming to be close to the former couple allege that cracks began to show in Turner and Jonas’ marriage last year. According to sources, Turner was unhappy with her husband’s Jonas Brothers tour. The “Cake By The Ocean” singer is currently on tour with his brothers Nick and Kevin.

“Sophie didn’t want to always be ‘the Jonas brother’s wife,’” says the source. “She didn’t want to go on tour and do everything together. It’s not her personality, and she wanted to keep their family separate from all the Jonas Brothers hoopla.”
While there has been many accusatory reports about Turner’s time spent away from her kids while filming in England, another source says the Game of Thrones was consumed by having to juggle her career, motherhood and being a supportive wife. “Being a mom on the road is not easy, even when you have unlimited resources. It was just hard for them to settle into a regular routine because of Joe’s career especially,” the source says.
By March of this year, according to the report, things were getting even worse. “Sophie says Joe was too controlling,” an additional source tells Us Weekly. “She also said Joe liked to flirt a little too much while out in public, but then he wouldn’t like it when she would get too close to her male friends. It was clear their marriage was crumbling.”

“Nobody thought things would get this nasty between Joe and Sophie,” a source says. “Friends are hopeful they can be mature for the sake of the kids, but neither one is going to acquiesce to the other. This could go on for a very long time.”
