Andrew Bernstein, who served as an executive producer and director on season two of the series, will direct the feature, which has a script penned by Aaron Rabin, who served as a co-executive producer and writer on season four.
Jack Ryan was based on the characters and so-called “Ryanverse” created by author Clancy, but placed in modern times. It ran for four seasons on Amazon Prime Video, where it is ranked among Prime’s top three most watched series globally.
Producing the feature are Krasinski and Allyson Seeger via their Sunday Night banner. Andrew Form is also producing.
Ryan is being produced in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will executive produce alongside John Kelly and Carlton Cuse.
Bernstein, who was one of the main directors of Netflix’s Ozark, most recently directed multiple episodes of Welcome to Derry for HBO and worked on the first season of The Diplomat for Netflix. He is repped by CAA, Industry Entertainment Partners and McKuin Frankel.
Rabin recently worked on Nobody 2, the action thriller starring Bob Odenkirk currently in postproduction at Universal. His spec Towers landed on the 2020 Black List. He is repped by CAA and Untitled.
Krasinski, who is also an accomplished filmmaker, recently wrote, produced and directed the family fantasy IF, in which he starred alongside Ryan Reynolds. He and his banner also produced A Quiet Place: Day One, an extension of his acclaimed creature feature franchise. Krasinski is repped by WME and Schreck Rose.
Pierce is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency and Frankfurt Kurnit, while Kelly is repped by WME, Liebman Entertainment and Schreck Rose.
