John Legend Goes ‘Crazy’ for Balmain in Shimmering Suit for Performance with Sheila E at the 2024 Democratic National Convention

John Legend shimmered in Balmain on the third night of the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday. The singer performed a rendition of Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” with Sheila E at the event, which is taking place in Chicago and wraps on Thursday.

Legend’s outfit included a white double breasted blazer with a black lapel emblazoned with sequins over a black button-down top, matching trousers and glittery shoes. David Thomas, who also works with Lionel Richie and Charlie Puth, styled Legend.

Sheila E. wore a white high-low dress silhouette that included a blazer-style top that extended into a length skirt at the back with shorts and sneakers.

Legend is known for wearing tailored suits from luxury brands like Gucci and Alexander McQueen in public appearances. He recently wore a Louis Vuitton suit for the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

The 2024 Democratic National Convention is taking place in Chicago. Held to officially nominate Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate and affirm her choice of Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota for vice president, the event also had its share of fashion statements.

On Tuesday, Michelle Obama took the stage in a Monse crisscross jacket. On Monday, Jill Biden sparkled in a custom Ralph Lauren dress and Hillary Clinton brought her signature style in a tweed suit.

The DNC will end on Thursday with Kamala Harris’s official speech as the Democratic nominee.
