Johnny Depp stays on tour as report says his ill son is 'a lot better'
Amid reports that his 16-year-old son is very ill, Johnny Depp performed with his band, the Hollywood Vampires, in Munich on Wednesday.
Perhaps the Pirates of the Caribbean star continuing his European rock tour is a sign that Jack Depp is OK. A source tells People that Jack was seen walking with a female friend around his mom’s Paris apartment looking “a lot better.” Johnny Depp appeared more serious than usual upon his return to his Munich hotel.
Concern about Jack started when Vanessa Paradis — who shares two children with Depp — missed the Paris premiere of her latest film, Knife + Heart.
“Unfortunately, Vanessa Paradis was not able to join us tonight; she had to be absent because of her son’s serious health problems,” the film’s director, Yann Gonzalez, told the press.
Representatives for Depp and Paradis have not commented.
Depp, 55, and Paradis, 45, ended their 14-year relationship in 2012 and are parents to both Lily-Rose, 19, and Jack Depp.
“The last couple years have been a bit bumpy,” Johnny Depp told Rolling Stone in 2013. “At times, certainly unpleasant, but that’s the nature of breakups, I guess, especially when there are kiddies involved.”
He added, “Relationships are very difficult. Especially in the racket that I’m in because you’re con-stantly away or they’re away and so it’s hard. It wasn’t easy on her. It wasn’t easy on me. It wasn’t easy on the kids. So, yeah. The trajectory of that relationship — you play it out until it goes, one thing leads to another. So for whatever reason that ceases, it doesn’t stop the fact that you care for that person, and they’re the moth-er of your kids, and you’ll always know each other, and you’re always gonna be in each other’s lives because of those kids. You might as well make the best of it.”
Earlier this month, it was Depp’s health that was making headlines after he appeared thinner during a concert stop in Russia. A source close to the actor assured Yahoo Entertainment that there is “no need to be concerned” and that “he is healthy.”
As for Jack, no further details have been given regarding his alleged health scare.
