During an interview on BBC’s The One Show on May 28, Bon Jovi was asked how the newlyweds were doing, to which he replied, “They’re great.”
“They’re absolutely fantastic,” he continued. “It was a very small family wedding, and the bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be. Yeah, it’s true.”
Brown and Bongiovi have yet to publicly confirm or comment on their nuptials.
The couple went public with their relationship in 2021 when Brown posted a photo on her Instagram sharing a kiss with Bongiovi while riding the London Eye. They later made multiple red carpet appearances as a couple, including at the premieres of Enola Holmes 2 and Stranger Things season four, and walked the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards carpet together.
Last May, both Brown and Bongiovi posted on their respective social media channels seemingly announcing that they were engaged.
“I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all,” Brown wrote in the caption of a black-and-white photo featuring them both on the beach, with her wearing a diamond ring on her left finger. Bongiovi also shared a similar photo with the caption, “Forever.”
Following the engagement, Brown had told Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) that she was finding the wedding planning process “so fun,” and it marked an “exciting time” in her life. She also reiterated that she wanted to keep the intimate details of the wedding private: “I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once. And to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me. So I feel it’s important to keep those things — those small precious moments in life — really close to your chest.”
However, Brown did share the funny but stressful story of Bongiovi’s proposal. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she recalled how he proposed underwater. “He puts the ring on my hand, and as I go to show him, the ring falls off my finger, plummets so fast,” the actress noted. “Jake threw himself into the water, like, so deep. Like, the diver was like, ‘You can’t do that. Your ears — literally, your brain will explode.’”
Matthew Modine, who plays Dr. Martin Brenner and Eleven’s “Papa” on Stranger Things, had recently revealed to Access Hollywood that he would be the one to officiate his co-star’s nuptials.
“I have one of those licenses to get people married, and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows, and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife,” he explained.
In an interview with Andy Cohen on Cohen’s SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, Bon Jovi addressed whether he worries his child is too young for marriage.
“I don’t know if age matters if you find the right partner, and you grow together,” he said. “My advice really is growing together is wise.” He added, “I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with, and we like them all.”
As for whether Bon Jovi has seen Brown in Stranger Things, he said “of course” he has. “Millie is wonderful,” he said. “Her whole family are great. Jake is very, very happy.”
