Jon Gosselin wins temporary custody of son Collin as Kate is a no-show in court: Reports
A Pennsylvania judge awarded Jon Gosselin temporary custody of his son Collin on Tuesday morning. Kate Gosselin was apparently a no-show in court after her request for the hearing to be postponed was denied earlier this week.
“Jon won sole physical and sole legal custody of Collin,” a source tells Us Weekly. “All other matters were moved to a future court date.”
Yahoo Entertainment reached out to representatives for the Gosselins but did not immediately receive a response.
The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 stars have been in a custody dispute over where their 14-year-old boy will live upon his release from an inpatient program for children with special needs. Although the Gosselins split nearly a decade ago, they have remained bitterly estranged, and it has divided their children.
Hannah, one of Jon and Kate’s 14-year-old sextuplets, resides with her father full-time. In August, he shared a photo of Hannah’s first day of school, writing that he was “proud” of her for “starting fresh.” It appeared that she had enrolled at a new school away from her siblings. Four of the sextuplets — Leah, Alexis, Joel and Aaden — live with Kate, as do 18-year-old twins Mady and Cara.
Earlier this month, Hannah and Jon spent the weekend visiting with Collin.

It’s unclear when Collin will be moving in with his father. A source told Us Weekly that he comes home on weekends and will be “home for good a few days before Christmas.”

The difficult decision to send him to an inpatient program was made by Kate. The TLC star did not consult her ex-husband of nearly 10 years, telling People she was “very happy” with her choice and “comforted by the fact that he is so clearly exactly where he needs to be.”
