Jophielle Love Releases Emmy-Nominated Charity Single Performed On GH
In her five years on General Hospital, Jophielle Love has made it no secret she’s not only a talented actress, but an aspiring singer. Now, Love has just released her first single, which she once performed on GH.
Keep Shining
During a Christmas episode last December when Finn (Michael Easton) and his family decorated the tree, Love, who has played Violet since 2019, sang her original song, titled “Shine,” surrounded by her on-screen family. In an Instagram post, Love revealed, “It was recorded live on set… one take… no auto-tuning there… so be gentle!”
After “Shine” was nominated for Best Original Song at this year’s 2024 Daytime Emmys (see the full list of Emmy nominees), Love has released it as her very first single. Part of the proceeds from the song will be donated to Save The Children, an organization that strives to improve children’s lives. “Let’s bring light to the world… anything helps,” Love wrote on her mom-run Instagram.
Love All Around
“Shine” isn’t the only song Love is now known for. The actress recently sang another original song during Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) wedding on GH. “True Love” easily captured the love that appeared on-screen, not just from the bride and groom, but also from other GH supercouples in attendance.
Love, who recently celebrated a milestone birthday, shared the song in an Instagram reel full of behind-the-scenes photos and clips from filming the wedding, including snaps of Love with Michael Easton, Gregory Harrison, and Easton Rocket Sweda.
“Shine” can be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other music platforms.
