Jordan Rodgers proposes to JoJo Fletcher again 3 years after their 'Bachelorette' engagement: 'No cameras, no producers, no drama... just us'
Three years after becoming engaged on The Bachelorette, Jordan Rodgers has proposed to Joelle “JoJo” Fletcher again with a new ring.
Rodgers and Fletcher shared the news Sunday as well as photos of the gorgeous ring. He said that ahead of their wedding next year, he wanted to “re-propose” to the “funniest, strongest and sweetest person I have ever known” with “no cameras, no producers, no drama... just us.”
He wrote that while their first proposal — during Season 12 of The Bachelor spin-off in 2016 — was “so real” and “meant so much to both of us,” now that they’re planning their wedding, he “wanted to do it all over again, OUR WAY!”
So he bought a new ring, planned a proposal for while they out looking for a wedding venue, and got down on one knee again. He said Fletcher was super surprised and hated her outfit while it went down. In an Instagram video, the beaming bride-to-be said, “I had no idea this was happening.”
Rodgers revealed why proposing again was important to him.
“This time it was simple: Joelle is the love of my life, she is my rock, she is the funniest, strongest, and sweetest person I have ever known,” he wrote. “The first time around I fell in love with a lot of what you all love about JoJo. But this time around I got on one knee and vowed to honor and protect her heart, which is the greatest part of her. She loves her family, her friends, me, and complete strangers with the most pure love a human can give. And THAT is what I love most about her most. How she treats people, how she loves people, and how she makes me a better man. And that is what I will always love, cherish, and protect the most!”
He said that while he was committed to her the first time too, his love for her “has grown a million times over” since and wanted to honor that.
Fletcher also shared her version of events, noting she reacted by “balling hysterically and totally blacking out.”
She added, “The show brought us together and set us up for a truly amazing proposal the first time around, but this time was all YOU. And that means everything and more to me. I can’t wait to marry you! Thank you for loving me so purely and protecting my heart in a way I always used to pray for.”
Among those to react to the news was Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, who is engaged to Wells Adams, a contestant during Fletcher’s seasons of Bachelorette. She called the new ring an “upgraaaaade.”

Rodgers and Fletcher are expected to get hitched next year — just as soon as they settle on their wedding venue.
