Jordin Sparks Sings “No Air” From The Crowd During Chris Brown Concert
Chris Brown’s ’11:11′ tour has come to an end. Despite several celebrities popping out to support Brown, including Victoria Monét and Kehlani, there were notably no surprise guests who performed alongside the crooner, especially during his last two shows in Los Angeles.
One person many assumed would join Brown onstage was Jordin Sparks—considering their duet, “No Air,” is part of his set.
Sparks didn’t make a special appearance at either show, but took to Instagram on Thursday (Aug. 8) to answer the burning question regarding her whereabouts.
“Where’s Jordin?! I’m right here—Singing with you all!,” the American Idol winner wrote as a caption to footage of her from Wednesday night’s show, singing along to the 2008 ballad. “Enjoyed being a fan at the show and soaking this all in. Thank you @chrisbrownofficial for performing our song. I’ll never get over it.”
“No Air” was the second single from Sparks’ debut album. It went triple platinum domestically and peaked No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. It gave Sparks her first Grammy nomination in 2009 for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.
Fans flooded Sparks’ comments amid her onstage absence.
One user replied, “I’m sorry but I needed you on stage. Every one was singing their hearts out on your verse, me included. We love you girl.” Another responded, “How are you there and not on stage!?” Media personality Amber’s Closet chimed in, “ALWAYS MY JAM!! He really needed u up there!!”
Sparks’ husband and manager, Dana Thomas, admitted in the comments that he “tried [his] hardest to make it happen,” but the reason behind why it didn’t wasn’t disclosed.
