Judy Greer To Star Opposite Owen Wilson In Apple Golf Comedy From Jason Keller

EXCLUSIVE: Judy Greer (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever) is set to star alongside Owen Wilson in Apple TV+’s new, currently-untitled golf comedy series from Jason Keller (Ford v Ferrari), Deadline can reveal.

Greer will play Amber-Linn, the ex-wife of Wilson’s over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer, Pryce Cahill. She takes over the role from Jamie Neumann, whose reasons for departing the project weren’t made clear.

Created, showrun, written and exec produced by Keller, the show’s plot hinges on the fact that Pryce Cahill’s golfing career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom, to be played by Peter Dager.

Others set for roles in the 10-episode series include Marc Maron, Mariana Trevi?o and Lilli Kay.

Hailing from Apple Studios, the show will be directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Fleishman is in Trouble). Exec producers include Propagate’s Ben Silverman (The Office), Howard T. Owens and Rodney Ferrell, Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady (Ripley, The Fall Guy), Piece of Work’s Lee Eisenberg and Natalie Sandy, Chris Moynihan, Keller, Wilson, and Bill Callahan.

Always in demand, Greer has just been tapped for a role in The Long Walk, Lionsgate’s adaptation of the 1979 novel from Stephen King, as we were first to report. Recently wrapping Stampede Ventures’ action thriller The Fisherwoman opposite Emma Thompson, she’ll next be seen starring in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a holiday family comedy that Lionsgate releases on November 8.

Greer is represented by Artists First, CAA, and Felker Toczek Suddleson.
