The Culling Game in Jujutsu Kaisen is a big part where jujutsu sorcerers, cursed users, and spirits had to fight each other all over Japan. This was put together by a magician named Kenjaku. This practice is used to gather bad energy and go beyond being human.

The game has many colonies connected by barriers that stretch across Japan. More than 1,000 wizards have joined the game. They helped to let out bad magic energy. This energy moves through the areas, reaching Japan except Hokkaido island. It affects all of them, but not this special place called holy land in the whole country.

Let’s look at where, why, and the laws guiding this big battle royale fight.

Who Started the Culling Game and Why?

Kenjaku, a 100-year-old magician, started the Culling Game. He had big plans for the game, which spanned over a thousand years. He thought it would be like an efficient way to make all humans better than before by elevating them from their current state.

Kenjaku plans to change how cursed energy works inside people, hoping to improve it. He thinks about finding hidden bad power past Jujutsu witch doctors and cursed ghosts, imagining a place where they all live together, but it’s not peaceful.

To bring about this major change, Kenjaku organizes a grim contest. The Culling Game changes many people into wizards and starts major fights between them. Its goal is to eliminate the best ones, leaving behind very few with powerful skills that push society forward.

The Culling Game Rules

The Culling Game isn’t just messy; it has strict rules that control how things move and work, making the game more dangerous for those playing. It makes them risk more when they join this scary competition.

  • In 19 days after starting a cursed skill, people must join in at the chosen block. This rule also applies to people given powers by Kenjaku through Human Transfiguration.

  • Not following the rules of participation could lead to losing a possibly bad skill, which would probably cause serious harm.

  • Any person who enters a community immediately becomes part of the game.

  • Players get points by getting rid of others. Wizards are worth 5 points, while others have a value of 1 point.

  • Getting 100 points lets you talk with the game boss and add a new rule. This makes it better for players to win more easily in games.

  • The person in charge of the game has to agree with suggested rules, but not those that drastically change how the game is played.

  • If players don’t change their scores for 19 days, they might lose a bad playing skill.

There’s also an unwritten law that decides how new players are moved in a group of people.

The Culling Game’s rules are followed very strictly and can be harsh. This makes the competition really tough, with people using smart moves to gain an advantage in their fight for survival.

In a nutshell, the Culling Game in Jujutsu Kaisen is not just random fighting but an organized event set up by Kenjaku. As this story goes on, we learn about the tricky rules and bad plans behind a mean competition. It shows how deep and complicated this exciting tale is.
