Julianne Hough is opening up about which past Dancing With the Stars winner she isn’t really sure deserved the Mirrorball trophy. The show’s co-host and former pro came clean during an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen after a viewer asked if there’s ever been a winner Hough has “strongly disagreed” with.

Hough took a minute to think over her answer, but fellow guest Mickey Guyton had his answer ready: Bobby Jones. And once she heard that answer Hough seemed to be on the same page.
“I actually agree with you,” she said, before explaining, “And I think it’s because of the fan base. It’s all about [the] fan base on that show. He was not the best dancer.”
Bones won Season 27 of Dancing With the Stars alongside pro Sharna Burgess despite earning lower scores from the judges than fellow finalists. Disney Channel actor Milo Mannheim came in second place, Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch in third and influencer Alexis Ren in fourth. The show’s format means the winner isn’t decided fully by the judge’s scores, but by combining that and fan voting. That’s how Bones, a radio personality, came out on top.

Hough also talked about the celebrities that impressed her on Dancing With the Stars, listing Kellie Pickler, Xochitl Gomez, Iman Shumpert, Adam Carolla, and Apolo Ohno, and even discussed what her first date with Ryan Seacrest was, telling Cohen: “I think it was like [The Beverly Hills Hotel’s] Polo Lounge or something,” adding that it was a “private” thing.
Hough, who talked on the show about how people don’t really have any idea about what she does for a living, has achieved enormous success as a pro dancer, winning Dancing With the Stars 2 times and winning one Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography. She has also done acting work and is currently Dancing With the Stars co-host alongside main host Alfonso Ribeiro.
“I think because I do so many different things, I’m a bit confusing,” Hough said to Cohen. “People are like, ‘What does she do? Does she dance, is she a singer, is she an actor, what does she do?’ But I think I’m a storyteller. And I think by nature, everything that I do is storytelling whether it’s through my body or through my voice or through my acting.”
