Julianne Moore Favors Structured, Autumnal Tones in Attersee for ‘The Room Next Door’ Madrid Photo Call
Julianne Moore gave the monochrome trend a sleek twist during “The Room Next Door” photo call in Madrid on Wednesday. The Oscar-winning actress was joined by her costar Tilda Swinton and the film’s director, Pedro Almodóvar.
For the red carpet, Moore chose an autumnal chocolate brown ensemble with an off-the-shoulder silhouette and a lined front placket, courtesy of Attersee. Her top featured structured long sleeves, complementing the cigarette-style pants in a brown-bordering-berry hue.

For accessories, Moore chose items that enhanced the ensemble’s brown color scheme, including a gold string necklace, dainty earrings and a few gold rings. Departing from the brown tones, she selected black heeled booties to complete the look.
The actress’ ongoing red carpet appearances have featured designs from Bottega Veneta, wearing gowns from the Italian luxury fashion house at the Venice Film Festival last September and on the Golden Globes red carpet last January. She and Swinton, who opted for a suit in complementary berry tones from Chanel’s fall 2024 haute couture collection for the Madrid photo call, have been on the promotional circuit for the film since.
“We’d said that we were drawn to find time to do something together and we couldn’t have dreamed of anything more fulfilling than this. And again, the film looks at the landscape of old friendship: well, Julianne and I aren’t old friends, but we became close friends immediately,” Swinton said of making “The Room Next Door” with Moore in a conversation with WWD last September.
“We’re pretty much exactly the same age and so we have a whole frame of reference that is very harmonious and very easy for us to imagine having been friends for 30 years.”
“The Room Next Door” tells the story of Ingrid, played by Moore, and Martha, played by Swinton, who worked together in their youth at the same magazine. Years later, the two women reconnect under unexpected circumstances. The film hits theaters Friday.
