Jumping off a Grammy, CMT Awards win, Lainey Wilson's album 'Whirlwind' coming in August
Lainey Wilson's continued media moment will now include the Aug. 23, 2024, release of "Whirlwind," her fifth studio album via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville.
Wilson's album is available for pre-order/pre-save/pre-add and is currently available on Lainey's merch store at shop.laineywilson.com. Wilson's "Wild Horses" fan club members can pre-order a limited edition, signed black-and-white "Whirlwind" vinyl.
"I am so excited to finally announce 'Whirlwind.' This album has been a long time coming and I can't wait for the world to have this body of work in their hands soon," said Wilson in a press statement. "This new chapter of music is the most cathartic and personal piece of art I've ever made. I hope this record brings some peace to your whirlwind and wraps its arms around you like it did for me."
2024 has seen Wilson already win a Best Country Album Grammy for her 2022 release "Bell Bottom Country," a People's Choice Award for Female Country Artist of The Year, a CMT Music Award for Female Video of The Year, and made her Australian touring debut. Currently, her "Country's Cool Again" North American 2024 headlining tour arrives in Nashville on May 31 and June 1 at Ascend Amphitheater. This will follow her May 16 appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) stage in Frisco, Texas, before her at CMA Fest from June 6-9, 2024.
A press statement describes Wilson's forthcoming work as "a daringly honest look into the singer's life and journey around the globe" that is an "innovative and grounded extension of Wilson's signature sound" that "bends genres while remaining true to (Wilson's) Western roots."
2024 has already seen Wilson featured in a Super Bowl 58 commercial, hosting a Nashville pop-up bar, kicking off her world tour in Australia, preparing for 40 domestic dates extending through Nov. 2024 and a forthcoming Hulu special.
"I realize that it seems like I'm everywhere right now. Every single show we play gets crazier and crazier these days," Wilson told The Tennessean.
Wilson added at the 2024 Grammy Awards, "It feels like blood, sweat and tears have led to this moment right here. I'm on cloud nine, but I feel like this is also just the beginning and that's a very exciting feeling."
