According to a new statement from the Sag Harbor Police Department provided to Parade, the incident occurred around 12:37 a.m. on Tuesday, when the "Cry Me a River" crooner "was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel."

"A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition," the statement continued.

"Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment," read the authorities' official statement. "Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., where he was released on his own recognizance."

The Sag Harbor Police Department also concluded the statement by clarifying, "A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty."

A court date has been set for July 26.

Parade has reached out to representatives for Timberlake for comment.

Timberlake has not yet spoken out about his recent run-in with the law, but he is expected to appear in front of fans on Friday, when he kicks off back-to-back shows in Chicago, Ill., as part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.

It is not yet clear if Tuesday's arrest will affect Timberlake's previously scheduled concert dates.
