K-pop boy band Seventeen sold out both Oakland shows in 1 hour
(KRON) — The return of K-pop boy band Seventeen (stylized as SEVENTEEN) to the Bay Area later this year is highly anticipated. Both of its Oakland Arena shows on Nov. 5 and 6 have sold out within one hour of tickets going on sale, according to Ticketmaster.
Tickets to see the group on its “Right Here” world tour were gone in nearly an instant on the official ticket retailer’s website. About one hour after tickets went on sale at 3 p.m. PT to the general public on Thursday, not a single concert seat inside was available to purchase — for both the Tuesday and Wednesday concerts.
For the second show, Ticketmaster’s website simply said, “Tickets are sold out now. Check back soon.”

Carats, the official name for Seventeen’s fanbase, secured the tickets as fast as they could. Many of them got their hands on tickets during the pre-sale a day earlier. Seventeen was last in the Bay Area in August 2022, which also took place at Oakland Arena.
The group is coming off a record year in 2023 when its album “FML” was named the bestselling album in the world with 6.4 million units sold, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Seventeen also had the fourth-highest-selling album in the world that year, “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN,” which sold another 4.5 million copies.

Seventeen made its debut in 2015 and has since become one of the world’s most popular boy bands. The South Korea-based group has amassed more than 15 million Instagram followers and nearly 13 million X followers.
After the Oakland shows, Seventeen will head to BMO Stadium in Los Angeles for a performance on Saturday, Nov. 9.
