The Boyz Take Paris Fashion Week With Juyeon at Balenciaga, New Pops in Purple for Sacai
Juyeon of The Boyz made a case for elevated streetwear at the Balenciaga spring 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week on Monday. The K-pop star chose a layered T-shirt with color-block paneling. The crew neck shirt featured a Balenciaga logo on a chalkboard gray front, while the back featured a leopard print in brown, tan and cream.
Similar to his shirt, Juyeon’s jeans showcased color-blocking, featuring a lighter wash on the front and a darker wash on the back. Juyeon wasn’t the only member of The Boyz sitting front row during Paris Fashion Week. Choi Chan Her, better known as New, looked cozy at Sacai’s spring 2025 show.

The K-pop star snuggled up in a padded royal purple corduroy set, accessorizing with small silver hoop earrings. His oversize outfit was reminiscent of Sacai’s fall 2024 collection.
There, WWD reported that statement knits, made oversize in yarn and proportion, nodded to the early days of creative director Chitose Abe’s career. They were given structure by the tailoring element she fused into them.
In June, the brand showed a men’s and women’s collection for resort 2025. Inspired by James Dean, Abe collaborated with Levi’s and WTAPS on the clothing and experimented with various techniques. She fused hard and soft fabrics; sliced up garments and patched them back together in unusual ways, and borrowed bits and pieces from past centuries for her contemporary silhouettes.
Earlier this month, Sacai and Bergdorf Goodman threw a party that paid homage to the late street photographer Bill Cunningham and the recently released book “The Battle of Versailles: The Fashion Showdown of 1973.”
Looking to Cunningham’s signature style, a French “bleu de travail” workwear jacket, Abe has created her own version and a few other Cunningham-inspired styles.
The designer also stamped one of the photographer’s favorite expressions on T-shirts and hoodies: “Fashion Is the Armor to Survive Everyday Life.”
New’s attendance at the show comes after Launchmetrics data revealed celebrities from Thailand, South Korea and the Philippines generated the most media impact value for fall 2024 couture and spring 2025 men’s shows, WWD reported in July.
K-pop band Tomorrow x Together was one of the top celebrity voices during men’s, driving $18 million in media impact value. Launchmetrics noted that celebrities from Asia Pacific generated 18 times more MIV than those from the EMEA region. Thai singer and actor Phakphum Romsaithong, Thai rapper BamBam, South Korean boy band NCT and Thai actor Phuwin Tangsakyuen came in second, third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
South Korean born singer New is the main vocalist of K-pop group The Boyz, which debuted in 2017.
