Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Rima Das and Onir’s IFFM Opener ‘My Melbourne’ Unveils Trailer (EXCLUSIVE) – Global Bulletin

A trailer has been unveiled for “My Melbourne,” an anthology film showcasing diverse immigrant experiences in Australia’s cultural capital. The project, backed by VicScreen and Screen Australia, brings together four acclaimed Indian directors with emerging filmmakers to explore themes of identity and belonging. The film will open the 15th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM, Aug. 15-25).
The anthology features four segments, each centered on a different aspect of diversity. Onir directs “Nandini,” co-directed by William Duan, which follows a queer Indian man reconnecting with his father. “Jules,” directed by Arif Ali with Imtiaz Ali as creative director and co-directed by Tammy Yang, depicts an unlikely friendship between a newlywed and a homeless individual.

Rima Das directs “Emma,” co-directed by Samira Coxx, chronicling a deaf dancer’s journey to self-acceptance. Kabir Khan and Rahul Vohra direct “Setara,” co-directed by Puneet Gulati, which portrays a young Afghan refugee finding her place through cricket.
Produced by Mitu Bhowmick Lange AM, who also serves as IFFM festival director, the film features dialogue in English, Bengali, Hindi, Dari and Auslan.

LEGAL LUMINARY
Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has named Ritesh Khosla as its new general counsel, effective Sept. 1. Khosla, who has served as deputy general counsel at SPNI for six years, replaces retiring Ashok Nambissan. With over 20 years in the field, Khosla brings expertise in M&A, joint ventures, regulatory matters and IP protection. He’ll oversee legal, regulatory affairs and corporate relations, reporting into SPNI managing director and CEO Gaurav Banerjee.
Khosla aims to bolster SPNI’s compliance framework and legal infrastructure in international markets. He’ll also spearhead the company’s CSR initiatives. “I’m honored to take on this role and build on the strong foundation established under Ashok Nambissan’s leadership,” Khosla said.
