Kacey Musgraves takes jab at Alabama senators over abortion ban: What happens when they knock up their mistresses?
Kacey Musgraves maintains her “country rebel” reputation after taking a jab at Alabama lawmakers for passing a near-total abortion ban.
The celebrated Grammy winner, 30, who sings “Space Cowboy" and "Butterflies" asked a very important question on Thursday:
Sooo what’s gonna happen when one of those Alabama senators knocks up one of his mistresses? pic.twitter.com/VfwTYzX1CS

She had some help from Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson, in GIF form, for the zinger, directed at hypocritical politicos.
Country singers tend to lean the other way politically — or avoid the conversation altogether. Musgraves was praised by her followers for speaking out and using her “platform so beautifully.”
you use your platform so beautifully i love you

There were plenty of stinging remarks directed at the politicians, including the state’s former governor Robert Bentley.
Remember the last Alabama governor had to resign when it was discovered he had a mistress pic.twitter.com/CGP22f9Ehl

Most of the comments, though, were how politicians would find work-arounds to get abortions, if needed.
He will pay a dr to have it aborted in an unidentified location. They are corrupt, nothing changes for them.

Oh you know what will happen! Mistresses and other lovers will always have access to safe abortions! The law only applies to the “regular folk.” 😒

Rich people always had and will always have access to abortions. This won’t affect them in the slightest unfortunately

They’ll get them an abortion.

He arranges for her “accidental” death 👌🏼 Murder is much easier accepted by Christians than divorce/adultery *ironic because they care so much about the “murder” of unborn lives they will never have a part of SMH

The current governor, Kay Ivey, signed the bill into law — and it’s one of the toughest state anti-abortion laws we’ve seen. It makes no exception for incest or rape survivors. Doctors performing abortions would get significantly more prison time than rapists. (Reminder: Abortion is still legal in all 50 states.)
Celebrities have been speaking out in the wake of Georgia and Alabama passing these laws recently — and putting Roe v. Wade in jeopardy. They have been sharing their abortion experience, lead by Busy Philipps’s with her “You Know Me” hashtag getting women to bravely share their abortion stories.
Padma Lakshmi has been using the hashtag “Him Too” to get men to come forward and speak out on behalf of women’s rights.
I know there are a lot of men out there who have partners who've had abortions. It's time for you to speak up and be allies. Women don't get pregnant alone.
