Kaia Gerber Pays Tribute to Mom Cindy Crawford in Archival Hervé Leger Dress and Jimmy Choo Pumps

Kaia Gerber paid homage to her legendary mother Cindy Crawford in a pair of the Jimmy Choo ‘Ixia’ pumps while attending the “Shell” premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Thursday night.
The model wore a white Hervé Leger body-con maxi dress with a sweetheart neckline and underwire cups—a recreation of Crawford’s 1993 Oscars dress, which was custom-made for the appearance. “Kaia had sent me a mood board for TIFF and this was one of her references,” Molly Dickson, Gerber’s stylist, told Vogue. “I thought it would be amazing to pay tribute to Cindy’s iconic moment.”
As for her shoes, Gerber chose a pair of the Jimmy Choo Ixia pumps for her appearance at the Toronto Film Festival. Opting for the latte colorway, the shoe features a classic pump with a contemporary drop heel and square-cut vamp, and is crafted with Italian patent leather material.
Emphasized by a pointed-toe construction, the shoes are also lined with leather for comfort and feature a rubber outsole that allows for seamless walking on hardwood floors and tough pavements. Rounding out the silhouette is a drop heel measuring 3.7 inches in height.
Crawford wore the custom-made dress, and similar shoes, when she and ex-husband Richard Gere attended the 65th Annual Academy Awards together at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in March 1993. The pair was married from 1991 to 1995. She then married businessman Rande Gerber in 1998 and they welcomed son Presley and Kaia.
Pointed-pumps are a classic model that blends together elements of vintage and modern-day fashion. Many celebrities including: Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Princess Beatrice, Doja Cat and plenty of others have been spotted wearing the style over the course of 2024 thus far, with brands such as Stuart Weitzman, Chanel and Gucci offering a wide range of pointed-pumps throughout the season. Quite a few notable names have been spotted in the style recently.

Lauren Sanchez was also spotted last night in a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps that were characterized by its elongated pointed construction in the upper, and splashed a neutral beige color that provided an elegant contrast to her dark blue dress along with the designer’s trademark red soles. The silhouette was finished with a stiletto heel measuring roughly 3-to-4 inches in height.
