Kaia Gerber Wears Fresh Off the Runway Little Black Dress and Classic Patent Leather Pumps at the 2024 Time100 Next Gala

Kaia Gerber is taking advantage of being in the spotlight. The daughter of Cindy Crawford is enjoying the perks of being a celebrity and a model, wearing a dress first showed on the runway last month to the 2024 TIME100 Next event. Held in New York City, the celebration feted those featured on Time’s 100 Next list featuring emerging leaders.
With her little black dress, Gerber opted for some of the most classic heels for women: a black patent leather, pointed-toe pump. The inky shoe is a timeless style. As a pump it covers the outer edges of the entire foot. It also sports a rounded vamp and a sharp pointed toe. This particular style sports a heel that appears to be about four inches with a sharp pitch, or incline of the foot.
Many brands sell similar shoes including Jimmy Choo — the model recently wore a pair of Jimmy Choo pumps in white to an event. The stiletto pump, as a style, was said to be introduced in its most recent iteration by Roger Vivier in 1954. While that is debated, Vivier’s impact on the style is immeasurable. “They certainly popularized it,” Dr. Colleen Hill told Footwear News, referring to Vivier and Salvatore Ferragamo. “And they both created elegant, innovative designs that continue to be incredibly influential.”
With her classic shoes, Gerber paired a new dress. Her look is a figure-hugging design from Ferragamo done by Maximilian Davis. Last month, on the runway in Milan, the designer showed a Gerber’s dress as an off-the-shoulder design. It contained the black strips of fabric that were connected by sheer panels before hanging freely at the bottom, similar to fringe. Gerber styled the neckline, not off-the-shoulder with the strips of black fabric bunched, but spread out covering the shoulder.
