Generate Key Takeaways

Having a toddler at home is a fun stage of life. They’re still young enough to need constant help and attention, yet old enough to insist “me do it!” about every. Single. Thing. They are uncovering big emotions, growing at an exponential rate, and showing off their delightful personalities more and more. They can be wild and unpredictable — but we love them so much! Kaley Cuoco is going through it right now with her 19-month-old daughter Matilda “Tildy,” who she shares with fiancé Tom Pelphrey. She just described toddlers in the funniest way, and we’ll never think of them the same way again.

The Based on a True Story star appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon this week, where she opened up about life at home. “It’s a wild ride,” Cuoco told host Jimmy Fallon about parenting. “Oh my god. I mean, it’s an adventure! Nineteen months old, it’s a lot.”

Luckily, Cuoco (kind of?) has some experience with what it takes to raise toddlers. “You know, it’s a wild thing. I was trying to explain to our couples therapist the other day why I’m so tired,” she continued, taking a moment to stop and tell the audience, “You should all be in couples therapy, just FYI.” Cuoco recalled telling her therapist that “taking care of a 19-month-old is like taking care of your drunk best friend every day. All day, literally all day.”

Girl, yes! Toddlers are wild and unpredictable and if you have one, then you probably instantly know what Cuoco means. If you need more convincing, though, she explained her reasoning.

“They’re crying when they don’t get what they want, you’re making sure they make it to the bathroom or you’re cleaning their throw up from whatever,” The Flight Attendant star said. “And they’re out of their minds, and you’re making sure they don’t die all day long. And then they black out and you’re like ready to die and they wake up and they’re like, ‘What’s for breakfast?’ And you’re like, ‘What?!’ I’m like, ‘Do you even know what happened last night?’”

“It’s insane, and it happens every day,” she added, making Fallon laugh.

“That’s so funny,” he said. Cuoco replied, “I know, it’s a real joy.”

Exhaustion doesn’t always have to do with how many hours of sleep you got, clearly! The mental strength parents of toddlers have is immense, and now we are going to think of little kids like our wild drunk besties. (Maybe it’ll make their meltdowns easier to deal with?)

It’s not all bad though. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this month, Cuoco shared the joys of motherhood. “She’s amazing,” Cuoco said about her daughter. “She’s the coolest, sweetest, most incredible. It’s the best, it’s the best!”

Even if it is tiring most of the time.

From casual riders to professional equestrians, these celebrity kids are obsessed with horses.
