Kaley Cuoco Reportedly Took Her Time to Get Engaged to Tom Pelphrey for These Understandable Reasons
Earlier this week, Kaley Cuoco (and her fans!) were in for quite a surprise. On August 14, she announced that her partner Tom Pelphrey had popped the question and that the two were engaged after two years together. The pictures celebrating the occasion, much like every picture they post together, showed just how happy and in love they were.
And, since the proposal, sources are dishing on their relationship and even sharing why Pelphrey took his time to get down on one knee. “She’s super happy with Tom,” the insider told People.

But, despite their cloud-nine kind of love, Cuoco has had different focuses on her life in the past few years, and tying the knot just wasn’t one of them. “For years, her main focus was work,” the source of The Big Bang Theory star. In recent years, she’s also starred in movies like Role Play and Meet Cute and TV shows like Based on a True Story and Flight Attendant.
“To now focus on her family instead, makes her thrive,” the source added. “Getting married hasn’t been a priority until now.”
As a reminder, Cuoco and Pelphrey, who have been together since April 2022, welcomed their first daughter Matilda in March 2023. Since then, being parents to “Tildy” has been their number one job. “Her daughter is such a light. Kaley loves being a mom,” the source added.
With that said, Pelphrey’s long-awaited question came at the perfect time. “Kaley’s thrilled to be engaged,” the source said. “You know she’ll plan the most gorgeous wedding. And it will be even more special now when her daughter can be part of it.”
In fact, Tildy even helped announce the news of their engagement earlier this week.
In a picture posted by the actress on Instagram Story, one-year-old Tildy was dressed in a black shirt and skirt as she walked hand-in-hand with her parents in the park. The Ozark star held his daughter’s left hand, and Cuoco held Tildy’s right hand with her engagement ring blinking in the sun. All three are wearing matching black as they turn to look at the camera with wide eyes.
Looks like they’re one happy family of three!
