Kamala Harris To Appear On ‘Club Shay Shay’ With Shannon Sharpe
Vice President Kamala Harris is set to appear as a guest on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Shannon Sharpe. According to CBS News political reporter Aaron Navarro, the interview was filmed and will air on Monday (Oct. 28).
The appearance continues Harris‘ unconventional media tour as she has had conversations on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Roland Martin Unfiltered, The Howard Stern Show, The Late Show with Stephen Cobert, The View, Charlamagne Tha God for iHeartRadio, and The Shade Room.
Jasmine Harris, Black media director for the Harris-Walz campaign explained to NBC News the controversial TSR spot was “to reach Black Americans where they are at and engage with Black communities across the country through diverse mediums on the issues that matter most to them,” which is likely a similar reasoning for her sit down on Club Shay Shay.
According to VOX, the platform led by the former NFL star boasts 3.6 million YouTube subscribers as of 2024 and is the No. 11 podcast in the country. While some have critiqued the podcast as “messy” or questioned his interview skills, Sharpe manages to provide his viewers with compelling conversations with significant figures in Black entertainment and pop culture at large.
This year, the 2024 Webby Advocate of the Year Award has hosted Tyrese, Amanda Seales, Offset, Fat Joe, and Marlon Wayans. Notably, Sharpe kicked the year off by interviewing Katt Williams. The viral conversation earned the 2024 Webby Award for Featured Guest, Individual Episode, and currently has over 80 million views on YouTube.
Most recently, R&B singer John Legend joined the 3x NFL champion, where the discussion turned political.
“When he talks about immigration, he’s talking about Black and brown people from the global South,” Legend explained of former President Donald Trump. “He says they’re messing up the gene pool in America, which implies an ideal, white America. It’s a thinly veiled racist argument.”
